Introduction Mahakumbh is the world’s largest spiritual gathering, a place where millions come to take a dip in the holy waters of Triveni Sangam—where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati meet. This year, we—Sharanam, Vaishali, Mithil, and Bela—embarked on an unforgettable 75-hour road trip from Mumbai to Prayagraj and back in our Mahindra XUV700. What followed was a test of endurance, devotion, and adventure!
Day 1: Mumbai to Jabalpur – The Journey Begins 🚗
We set off from Mumbai in the early hours, full of excitement for the adventure ahead. The first leg of our journey took us via the Samruddhi Expressway, a smooth and fast highway that made for a thrilling drive.
🚗 Route: Mumbai → Nashik → Aurangabad → Nagpur → Jabalpur (Approx. 1,400+ km)
🌟 Highlights:
Smooth ride on the Samruddhi Expressway
Quick pit stops for fuel and snacks
Challenges: As night fell, we faced the unexpected—no hotels were available! With no choice, we slept in our XUV700, catching just 1.5 hours of rest before resuming the journey.
Day 2: Jabalpur to Prayagraj – The Last Stretch & The Holy Dip 🌊
Running on minimal sleep, we hit the road early, eager to reach Prayagraj. The last 30 km were a challenge, with massive traffic jams slowing us down. After navigating through the chaos, we finally reached Prayagraj at 2 PM.
🚦 The Final Journey:
Parked our XUV700 at a government parking lot
Took two bikes to reach Arail Ghat
Boarded a VIP boat to Triveni Sangam
🌊 The Sacred Dip at Triveni Sangam Taking a dip in Triveni Sangam is believed to cleanse one’s sins and bring spiritual awakening. The moment we stepped into the confluence of the three rivers, a deep sense of peace and fulfillment washed over us. We felt truly blessed.
🏕️ Stay: After changing in designated changing rooms, we returned to Arail Ghat and booked a tent for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Prayagraj to Nagpur – The Return Begins 🛣️
